Football
Buying for a football fan can be tough. The clichés are cliché because they sell. They’ve already got the shirt. They’ve got the scarf. Someone bought them the mug with the badge on it three birthdays ago. When you’re trawling through aisles of shit trying to find something that actually hits home, the outsized football aisle is the last place you want to be.
Collated obsessively by fans for fans, this collection was designed to solve that problem. Every product here was handpicked by people that live and breathe the game. We know the difference between a gift that will get used and one that’ll end up forgotten in a drawer. We didn’t want to drown you in items that only kinda sort of relate to football. We wanted stuff that would make a football obsessive stop and smile, yes someone actually understands me.
Quality means earning your keep round here. If it’s going to be gifted to someone who lives and dies by the footballing calendar then it’s got to meet a certain criteria. It helps if it relates to their team; their history, their stadium, their traditions. Or it helps if it’s going to genuinely enhance the way they watch and experience the game. That can mean a heavy dose of atmosphere, but McGregor prints don’t count. If it’s not adding something real then it’s not making the cut.
When you spend as much time with football fans as we have to, you start to understand what makes them tick. The fan who’s spent thirty years going to the same ground and can navigate those stadiums in their sleep. The one that watches every game, no matter the time difference or weekday roar. The one who knows about a goal you scored before you were born just because their dad told them the story so many times they adopted it as their own. Supporting a team is more than just a hobby, it’s ingrained into their very being. It’s cultural, tribal and frustratingly illogical yet absolutely serious business.
Because of that we wanted to keep it edited. Not every football tat we could find. Just the ones we’d personally gift. We’d wrap it up ourselves and hand it over knowing they’ll appreciate it. Things that show you’ve been paying attention. If you’re looking for gifts for a football fanatic you can trust, start here.
