Some things refuse to be filed neatly. We've been building this site long enough to know that the best gifts don't always arrive with a tidy label attached, and that forcing them into a category just to satisfy a sorting system does them a disservice. So this is where those things live.
It is not a dumping ground. We want to be clear about that. Nothing ends up here because we forgot about it or ran out of patience. Everything here earned its place on the site the same way everything else did, which means we looked at it seriously, argued about it among ourselves, and decided it was worth your time. The only difference is that it didn't slot cleanly into the buckets we'd already made. That's a filing problem, not a quality problem.
What you tend to find here are the gifts that surprised us a bit. The ones where someone on the team sent a link saying have a look at this and we all went quiet for a moment because it was genuinely hard to place. Not weird for the sake of it. Not novelty nonsense dressed up as something interesting. Just gifts that sit slightly outside the obvious, the kind of thing a thoughtful person gives when they want to show they were actually paying attention rather than just completing a task.
Some of it is for specific people who are notoriously hard to buy for because they exist outside the usual categories themselves. Some of it is occasion agnostic, which is to say it works for a birthday or a thank you or a no reason at all. Some of it we can't entirely explain except to say that when we imagine handing it over, the reaction in our heads is always good.
We tidy this page up regularly. Things get recategorised when we build a new collection that finally fits them properly, and new things arrive when something comes along that we love but can't quite place. Think of it less as a leftover drawer and more as the interesting bit at the end of the market that doesn't have a sign above it but always has the best stuff.
