Rugby
Rugby fans are a unique animal and they know it. Rugby asks more from it’s players and it’s fans, demands unique dedication that manifests itself in mud on a Saturday morning, pints at the end of the match and being able to watch a ruck without wondering what people are actually doing. Shopping for someone like that demands similar care. Generic sports gifts fail to meet this test. A rugby fan will recognise half-hearted presents that could just as easily belong to a football fan from a mile off.
That’s why we built this collection. We’re that person. We’ve shared freezing stadium seats with them. We’ve watched them tape their ears pre-match and raised an eyebrow. We know the difference between someone who casually watches rugby and someone for whom it seeps into every part of their life and pretty much everything here caters to the later.
Occasions may be obvious but are worth mentioning. Birthdays. Christmas. End of season. A players first club cap. Your kid when they go nuts for the sport and you can’t get them to shut up about it. The problem in each case is the same. You want something that will resonate with somebody who knows what they’re talking about. who has opinions. who will INSTANTLY know whether you put any thought into getting them something or bastardised the world’s best sport for an easy gift.
We’ve been brutal in editing down items until we had things that passed one question. Does it matter to someone who doesn’t just watch rugby but lives it through playing or following every availiable opportunity? We ditched a ton of stuff that felt more like payday pimping of the sport rather than something that’ll actually be used by the community we all care about. All that remained was stuff we’d be comfortable giving ourselves.
Some of it you can use. Some of it you’ll hang on the wall. Some of it is for the still scraping together rewards at 45 year old player. Some of it is for your parent who remembers supporting their team before they could walk. Rugby’s culture is special enough that it deserves gifts built with care. Please enjoy ours.
