San Jose Sharks
Getting a legitimately cool gift for a Sharks fan is surprisingly difficult. All the “go-to” stuff. The stuff you’ll find at every sporting goods store. Things people half-heartedly accept before forgetting about. Slapping a team logo on a bag of rocks does not make it a gift. We’ve never felt that way and we’re not about to start now.
When we compiled our list we were going for the opposite of those kinds of things. We wanted stuff that a true San Jose Sharks fan would be excited to own, use, or display in their house without feeling like an afterthought from someone who googled “San Jose Sharks” and clicked on the first image they saw. Teal is important to these folks. The shark tooth logo is important. The SAP Center on fight night is important. We kept all of that in mind while compiling this list.
This list should appeal to the Sharks fan who watches every game, the Sharks fan who grew up taking their dad to Sharks games back when they called the “Tank”, and the die-hard fan who lived through the team’s not-so-great years because that’s what true fans do. But we also considered the person doing the buying. Maybe they know their friend / family member loves hockey but aren’t sure what to get them besides a maybe-too-small jersey.
We set out to find fun, unique gifts that fit into that latter category. Gifts that feel thought-through. Gifts that say you know what this person likes about the sport they love rather than what team they happen to cheer for. There’s a difference between buying something Sharks-related and buying something a Shark fan will actually be excited to receive. That was the gap we set out to bridge.
We’re not trying to offer every Sharks-related product known to man here. You’ll find countless mugs, keychains, and “officially licensed” gear by searching any retailer’s website. What we offer here is a curated list of gifts we’d actually give to ourselves. Gifts we would enjoy owning as proud Sharks fans. That was our benchmark and it weeded out a lot of options. Hopefully it leaves you with some items you’ll actually enjoy giving.
