Chicago Cubs
No matter what anyone says about baseball, there’s some fans who don’t need convincing. The Cubs fan in your life already knows how they feel about this team. Probably knew when they were six years old. Likely carry’s it with them in the same way other people carry a family name. Asking if they’ll like something omits the larger fact that they give a fuck. So we collected some gifts worthy of Cubs fans.
Because Cubs merch that isn’t great is easy to find. Blue and red colours that could be any sport. Generic looking brands that proudly proclaim fan but tell you nothing about the actual fan. We wanted the other stuff. The kind that a real Cubs nerd picks up and immediately recognises. Pieces that speak to tradition and obsession and all of the feelings that come with following Chicago through everything they’ve thrown at their supporters.
Like Wrigley Field. The ivy, the scoreboard, the street where the stadium is located. It’s a place with character that few arenas in professional sports can match. And the best Cubs merchandise understands that. Great Cubs gifts don’t just slap the logo on something and call it a day. They embody what it really feels like to be a Cubs fan.
We considered the Cubs dad who has loved this team before some of you were born. We thought of the fan that was there in Chicago when 2016 rolled around and cannot succinctly explain what that experience was like. We considered parents handing down traditions to their children, teens and kids who are just being introduced to something that is bigger than any game. These are all Cubs fans but the gift that suits one won’t suit all. So we kept this collection small intentionally. These gifts were chosen because we actually like them. Not just to inflate our inventory count.
Some are useful, some are decorative (or maybe both), and some are for the diehard who probably has most of this crap anyway…but will definitely stop to look at this specific thing we found. Trust us, those are the hardest Cubs fans to shop for. Which is why we poured the most time into finding things for them.
