Ten years isn’t nothing. It’s a decade spent choosing each other for the mundane and the hard and the genuinely good bits, and you deserve a gift that recognises that weight without acting all stuffy about it. Traditionally speaking the material in question is tin or aluminium, which honestly sounds really boring until you realise how much you can do with that once you start looking. We looked.
We searched far and wide, questioning all the connections we had and chasing down fine dinnerware and bespoke jewellery makers until we had compiled something truly unique. This collection of items was built around the central idea that a gift for ten years together should feel personal to you and your partner rather than prescribed by tradition. An expensive bottle of something is lazy. A weekend away is nice, but too vague. We wanted to dig down to the stuff that will actually mean something, that you can hold or open or sit with and know that someone really gave it some thought instead of grabbing the first generic gift they saw.
Some of our picks follow the tin tradition by investing it with serious skill and craftsmanship. Others ditch the tradition entirely and go with something that simply celebrates your decade in style. We don’t cling to convention for convention’s sake. We are however quite fussy about quality, and about whether an item truly fits with being a gift for ten years together or if it’s just pretending to.
Your tenth anniversary is one of those milestones that tends to get noticed. It’s past the point where everything is rosé and clouds but before the really heavy stuff rolls around. Ten years is settled in a way that’s warm and quietly proud. Your gift should match that. It should feel like all of that at once without needing to beat you over the head with it.
