Sometimes moments in your life come with heft on their shoulders that ordinary gifts don’t match. Your thirtieth birthday. A ruby wedding anniversary. The first Christmas without them in your home, or the first with a newborn bub asleep in their own room. Those moments you know you need to get right. A bottle of wine or an eleventh hour voucher just doesn’t cut it and yet that’s what most people buy anyway because everyone feels the pressure and nobody gets it right. We built this collection because we kept seeing that gap. Of course there are plenty of places you can buy gifts. Very few curate them in a way that matches extraordinary moments. Items that you’ll remember giving as well as receiving. We wanted to do something about that. Each and every item here was handpicked for those big moments in your life. The once that come once a lifetime or the ones that happen once a year but are so laden with unspoken significance they take your breath away. Grand gestures for the sake of grandeur aren’t our thing. Spending lots of money doesn’t equal meaningful and we’ve tried really hard not to conflate those things here. Instead we wanted weight. Objects that whisper in your ear ‘I was thinking about you. I took the time to find something that suits YOU and not just any damn person who happens to have an anniversary.’ That sort of thoughtfulness is rare enough these days without having to wade through a whole heap of junk to find it. That’s why the range here is small. We could have included fifty more items to this collection but we didn’t. Diluting the cuidado with a bunch of middling merchandise doesn’t make life any easier for the people who are standing in front of a meaningful moment wondering how on earth they can find something as special as it is. And so we kept only the things that made us breathe a little deeper and think yeah, that’s it right there. Gifts that earn the occasion. Because if that moment in your life is worth celebrating then your gift should be too. That was the only rule we applied when putting this collection together and naturally it was rigorous enough that many, many good things didn’t make the cut.
