South Park
Other shows come and go. South Park has been going since 1997 and still hits harder than most things produced yesterday. That longevity is important when considering a gift because a gift centered around something you truly care about instead of vaguely watched feels like a wholly different gift to get.
The person you’re shopping for has watched every episode. They’ll quote it unprompted. They have thoughts on when the show was at its peak and they will explain these thoughts to you at great length. What they may not have is cool shit to enjoy alongside it, because a lot of South Park merch out there was made cheaply or is so lazy it doesn’t really land. We tried not to curse you with either of those options.
Each of these items was included for a reason. We only wanted to feature things we would confidently gift to someone who actually loves South Park. Someone who doesn’t just know all the cool bits because they’ve seen them all, but will appreciate knowing you know them too. There’s a difference between gift saying “I saw this on a website and thought of you” and one that says “I know you well enough to know this would make you happy.” We tried to uphold that latter spirit with everything we’ve chosen.
Not just that, but it appeals to so many generations that someone whether they started watching in '97 or 2017. Your friend who was sixteen when it premiered will be turning forty this year. Your sibling who "discovered" it through streaming caught up years after it premiered. And hey, don’t discredit your sibling. They absolutely love it and they’re right to. Same goes for your friend who got there first. Whoever they are, they’ll both be stoked for gifts that approach the show with the same respect free attitude it’s given everything else. Meaningful but never stuffy.
Speaking of not stuffing this with crap, we’ve tried to keep this curated. Nobody wants to scroll past a wall of jon use items just because some were “south park branded.” Especially not South Park fans. They’ll know the difference between what was personally selected for them and what was arbitrarily placed in front of them. They watch South Park, it’s spent 25 years mocking that shit.
