Han Solo
Some characters are one film, one moment, one era through. Yoda is not one of those characters. For over forty years he has been making people feel something and that, in any medium, is pretty damn rare. There is just an instinctive understanding with people that you don’t fuck with Yoda. Even when the thing you’re buying him for is totally, definitely a toy/trinket. That’s magic. He earned it.
We built this because we wanted something for the Star Wars nerd who has probably already seen everything and owns a lot of merchandise. They are the hardest people to buy for because they’ll know instantly whether something was cheap licensing shoved onto a mug or actually worth owning. We know these people. We are kind of that person ourselves. So every product here was looked at twice. It had to be good first and Yoda second. It also had to work as two halves of the same thing and not just one thing leaning on the other.
The things that leaned more into humour we looked for craft and wit in equal measure. Some of these products lean into the jokes. The backwards sentences. The way he sounds like he’s saying nonsense until he’s suddenly not. The others are less flashy. Quiet pieces for people who maybe want to keep him on their shelf or desk without it feeling like a monument to their High School locker. You’ll find both here. Not all Yoda fans will want the same thing and we tried to build for that without relying on bang=input.
As for the Force related stuff, we’ll be honest, we steered clear of most of it. There’s a lot of that out there. And not much of it is worth your space. What we have selected is specific. Considered. And in many cases really hard to source if you don’t know where to look. That’s what we’re here for. We did the work so you don’t turn up on someone’s birthday or Christmas and just grab whatever is left at the bottom of the pile.
