It’s not just that Darth Vader has remained number one for forty-nine years; not just in film history or in pop-cultural endurance. We mean that Vader has remained cool, absolute limitless cool, for four decades. The helmet. The breathing. The voice. The way he enters a room knowing he is the single most interesting thing in that room. You never stop loving Darth Vader. Buying Vader merch is easy. Finding good Vader merch is much harder. There is a lot of Vader merch and pretty as this stuff often looks it. Amounts of it are also complete garbage. You know it.
