Gryffindor

There is a particular kind of person who, when asked which house they are in, does not say "I'm not really into all that." They know. They have always known. And if the person you are buying for is a Gryffindor, they have almost certainly told you about it unprompted at least once, which is very on brand for them and also why you are here. Buying for a Gryffindor is not actually difficult if you understand what they respond to. These are people who lead with their hearts, who back themselves, who would rather try and fail than sit on the sidelines wondering. They are not subtle about their loyalties and they do not want subtle gifts. They want things that feel like them. Bold, warm, a little bit proud. What we were looking for when we put this together was quality first. The Harry Potter world has no shortage of tat with a crest slapped on it, and we have no interest in that. What we wanted was the stuff that earns its place on a shelf, gets worn without irony, and makes a Gryffindor feel genuinely seen rather than just categorised. There is a real difference between a gift that nods at something someone loves and a gift that understands it. We also thought hard about age, because Gryffindor fans are not all eleven. The person you are shopping for might be thirty five and have read the books more times than they can count. We wanted things that work across that range without feeling childish or, on the other end, so restrained that the magic gets ironed out entirely. What we ended up with is a small collection we are confident in. Every piece was chosen because it felt right, not just because it was available or popular or cheap enough to fill a gap.
