New Orleans Saints
Who Dat. If you read that, you know. If someone you care about bleeds black and gold, you know exactly what we mean. Purchasing for a Saints fan is less about finding the right gift and more about proving to them that you GET it. Because to our city or others who fell in love with everything New Orleans has to offer; the Saints are more than just a football team. They’re something much closer to our identities.
We created this collection with that person in mind. The individual who watched the 2009 NFC Championship game with their hands plastered over their face. The friend who has an opinion about every quarterback debate, stretching further back than most fans would believe. The someone who insists on being slightly louder when mentioning Bourbon Street before a home game. Getting them a generic gift, that just happened to have the logo thrown on it, is like showing up to jazz brunch and ordering a glass of tap water. It’s not acknowledging the culture.
Instead we searched high and low for pieces that simply FEEL right. Gifts that had some thought and quality behind them. Things that a die hard Saints fan would WANT rather than accept. We didn’t want to bulk up this collection with unnecessary items. If we wouldn’t constantly get asked about by a Saints fan we gifted it to, then you won’t find it here.
The Saints have had quite a few moments that stopped our entire city in it’s tracks. When the Superdome rebuilt itself after Katrina. Drew Brees putting the ball through the uprights to set the all time passing record. Moments that go beyond sports. We wanted this gift guide to reflect that history. Anyone that loves this team understands that legacy and carries a piece of it with them. When you get a Saints fan something, it should acknowledge that; even if you little. Make it feel like you spent time choosing it, not just buying it.
Need something for a birthday? The start of the season? Looking for something for a hardcore Saints fan who already has everything? Or maybe that special someone who is just coming into the fandom? This is where we would start. Carefully curated, smaller collection that KNOWS Who Dat we’re talking about. Because Who Dat Nation deserves better than some random gift bag nobody will remember.
