Baby Shower
You’re about to welcome your best friend, your child, your sibling into parenthood and you want to do it right. Baby gifts that aren’t just the wrapping-of-last-resort because oh gosh, don’t you just need a burp rag with that? You want this baby shower gift to say that you were listening, that you didn’t forget them when baby specs were thrown into the conversation, that you understand how massive this next step is while everyone around them is rushing it. Baby showers have become synonymous with mountains of tiny grey and white clothes that all look like slippers and counting muslin cloths into the double digits before the kid is even born. We wanted more than that.
Much more.
Every item you will find here has been carefully curated with the expectant parents in mind, rather than the baby registry. The mama. The papa. The individual who might just be equal parts terrified and overjoyed and definitely isn’t sleeping. Presents that recognize them as a person first, someone undergoing a massive life change rather than simply a carrier for someone else’s grand entrance. Some of these gifts will be genuinely helpful in the middle of the night way that you won’t understand until 3am. Some of it is gorgeous and thoughtful in a way that isn’t overwhelming but feels special. None of it was picked because you can buy five of those and not think too much about what you’re handing over.
We don’t think it’s fair to buy useless things just because you can spend nothing and appear generous. But we also know that buying something crazy expensive just because a baby feels like it needs a grand statement isn’t right either. We believe in buying something special. Which could be expensive. Or could cost next to nothing. But will always have thought behind it.
We’ve also spent time thinking about the guest who won’t be the Maid of Honor or baby whisperer but still wants to give something that will hit the mark. Straddling that line is tricky and we’ve spent a long time bouncing around those options. The result is a gift list that’s small enough to actually pick from, but doesn’t include a single item we wouldn’t gift to our loved ones.
