Bride
Buying something special for the bride is easier said than done. Not because she’s hard to buy for but because everyone else thinks the same thing and, before you know it, you’re elbow deep in silk bathrobes and personalised champagne stoppers before you’ve had time to think about what she’d actually like. We’ve been pondering this for a while and what we kept coming back to was this idea of gifts that celebrate the occasion versus gifts that celebrate the person behind the occasion.
It’s going to be her biggest day; the most photographed, the most shared, and the most meticulously orchestrated day of her life. Sometimes what she needs more than another ashtray is something that makes spending time around that day feel a little bit considered. Wedding planning is genuinely hectic in the weeks leading up to the day and, strangely, the weeks after can feel equally barren. They both deserve celebrating with something nice.
We’ve curated this edit with her specifically in mind. Not her hen do. Not the table at the wedding. For her. Individually. Human. That meant excluding a lot of what we considered cliché. We didn’t want to send her gifts that rely on you sprucing up the packaging with a veil emoji. We wanted stuff with staying power; stuff that she’ll still grab for six months down the line that doesn’t scream wedding gift.
Some of these things are treats. Real treats. Not instagram vs reality kind of treats. Some of it will keep her grounded through what is admittedly a hectic time. Things she’d love but wouldn’t quite justify treating herself to whilst planning the biggest event of her life. And to cover all of our bases, we threw in a few things for the day itself. Getting ready. Morning of things. Hungover cups of tea in the small hours of a day that always seems to fly by far quicker than anyone expects it to.
Keep things short and sweet for a reason. There’s only room for so many truly bride worthy gifts in one edit and we’d rather show you those than drown you in stuff that doesn’t belong. If you’re reading this and you know her well enough to be purchasing gifts for her at this crazy time of her life then she deserves something better than whats hiding behind a generic Bridal Edit title. So do you.
