Beer
Once upon a time buying beer as a gift was six pack from the local shop, crossed fingers and hope for the best. We believe that people who love beer deserve more. We also believe that the people buying gifts for them do too. We put this gift collection together because whilst beer is now one of the most exciting and actually giftable areas around, most gift sites offer it about as much column inches as a perfunctory nod.
We built this with one sort of person in mind. Not the drinking whatever is cold sort of person. We mean the sort of person who gets excited about a brewery they visited when on holiday, who squirrel away cans they liked the look of, who actually have feelings about hops and aren't afraid to voice them. Oh that person? They're actually really easy to buy for if you know what you're looking at. The trouble is, nobody does. They buy the safe-ish option and miss the moment.
Everything here has been curated for a reason. We researched craft beer subscriptions that actually rotate through smaller independent breweries rather than churn and burn the same big names with fancy foils on the boxes. We looked at tasting sets that revolved around an actual theme; be that built around one variety of hop, comparing regions or old school vs new breeds. We took the whole glassware dilemma seriously, as the right glass makes more difference than most people realise and a well curated set is an everyday gift that keeps on giving for a beer lover. We even thought about the people who want to take things to their logical conclusion and brew their own. It's actually really achievable as a hobby these days, not just a cupboard dominating, endless project best left to the weekends. The kits we recommend understand that. Books too - we think about who wrote them as well as what they write. Lastly we considered occasions. A birthday gift has more resonance than a thank you, and I'll bring X to your dinner party but Y if I want to send something nationwide.
Ok. Long-ish version done. Let's put a quick summary on those walls.
Beer is serious business. We take it seriously.
