BBQ
You all know the person. The one that cooks on the grill like its their kitchen. The one who starts mentally preparing meals the night before. The person that has preferences when it comes to charcoal and WILL tell you about them whether you asked or not. Shopping for that person isn’t hard. It just means knowing what they want instead of what looks good in a box.
We compiled this collection because we felt there was too much chasing silly gifts on one end and eye-watering price tags on the other. Novelties vs. Professionals. We wanted to hit the sweet spot. Items that a serious cook looking at a grill wishes they had. Period.
So we asked ourselves one question when selecting items. Would an actual person using a BBQ reach for this or politely set it down never to touch it again? BBQ gadgets masquerading as kit didn’t make the cut. Items that didn’t serve a real function got cut. Through that pruning we found some outstanding products that wouldn’t look out of place in a professional kitchens.
Occasion was something we considered too. Because this kitlist can do just about any job. Spring birthday when they’re already planning their first grill of the year. Fathers day when they can finally use their garden like its meant to be used. Housewarming when the new outdoor area is reason enough to celebrate. And Christmas. Because whether they realize it yet or not the serious BBQ person is already planning for next year and would rather have something practical in January than a nice looking but pointless gift.
Gifts that say “I knew you would use this.” Not “I tried to think of something.” We know who we’re buying for. We know they spend more time at the grill than anyone else we know. Now we can find gifts that fit how they actually cook. That was the only rule we made for ourselves and it’s the only rule that really matters.
