Playstation
Gift shopping for someone with a PlayStation seems simple until you find yourself in the store scrolling through titles trying to reason out if they already own said game, or questioning if their headset works fine, or figuring out if that controller is compatible with their console. Hours vanish into YouTube Guides and thread after thread of Forum discussions. We’ve spent many an afternoon down that rabbit hole ourselves.
.
So we took the time to do it right. We play PlayStation, which gave us a huge advantage compared to a lot of gift guides. We didn’t flip open a catalogue and choose items that sounded feasible. We thought long and hard about what we’d actually want someone to get us and it’s honestly the best filter for making choices like these.
.
Picking a game is always going to seem like the answer and will genuinely be your answer sometimes. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone unwrap a fantastic title you know they’ll enjoy. Giving a gamer a new game to play is likegift wrapping hours upon hours of entertainment that they wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. But you need to know what they enjoy, what’s already in their library, and if they’re the type to play something by themselves or with friends at 10 pm on Friday.
.
Figuring that out can be half the battle. Your game heavy gamer isn’t always the same as your casual weekend warrior. They want different things and love different experiences. If you can figure that out, we’ve got you covered.
.
But even if they know what games they want, there’s a world of PlayStation accessories that enrich the whole experience. Audio is drastically important to most gamers and yet we sit here telling you that nine times out of ten they’re playing using speakers that absolutely ruin the games sound design. Comfort is something we don’t think about until we’re sweating through a controller during a marathon session. There’s a pile of obscure-looking ‘peripheral’ junk out there that actually makes playing any game better in noticeable ways.
.
We kept this list relatively short intentionally. There’s no fluff-picks in this group and nothing made the cut because it made for a good photo or was easily available. Every product in this list is something we wouldn’t hesitate to gift to someone ourselves, be they a casual player or a person who builds their rigs like it’s a legitimate hobby.
