Bluey
If you’ve got a child under six in your life at the moment you’ll know. Bluey is not background kids TV they half watch whilst eating toast. It. Is. The. Thing. The one you put on before school and ask for again as soon as you’re inside, the show you sit and watch properly as a parent because… wow. It’s actually really good. And it’s why gifts like this land so differently to most child-facing character merchandise.
In the sea of toys and oggles there’s a lot of products that feel like they don’t care. Cash in allergies wearing Bluey like a badge without really ticking any boxes. Cheaply made figures with paint that flakes off on day two. Sad playsets. Toys that look amazing in the cupboard and disappointing on the floor. We’ve done the hard work for you so you don’t have to spend a Saturday afternoon standing in shop aisle scanning through the backs of boxes.
They play. These ones play. And they play well. They’re toys that your three or four year old will come back to again and again. Because they’re good quality toys that just happen to feature characters they recognise and love. Bluey, Bingo and Papa’s wonderful parenting that makes us all feel something in our hearts. Bandit & Chili and their completely different approach to raising children. The wonderfully expressive Mackenzie Street dogs that children don’t watch, they live inside their heads for hours at a time.
And whilst most of these toys work wonderfully on their own, they’re also gifts that work because they speak to children in their own language. You’re no longer buying a toy. You’re buying some more Bluey. Some more time dreaming about these families that have impacted so many of ours. Birthdays, Christmas, that really special present where you know they’re gonna jump down the couch with joy. This is territory you can bank on.
We’ve kept this short deliberately. These are toys we’d hand over ourselves. Each one individually selected because they’re good enough to stand on their own two feet. Merit judged based on the simple fact that they have the right faces on the front. That’s the only test we adhere to.
