Fandoms come and go. Except this one. 30-somethings who devoured these books in one sitting under the duvet as kids still feel it now. Their children are reading the dog-eared copies their parents bought them years ago. Right now, on television, somewhere in the world, those films are on. Buying a gift for someone who loves Harry Potter isn’t about finding something that just has an owl on it. It’s about finding something that acknowledges just how much this means to them. Because it means a lot, far more than you will understand if you haven’t sat reading these books yourself until 3 am too tired to put another body back together again.
But here’s the problem. With so much Harry Potter merchandise out there the good stuff is few and far between. There are thousands of pieces of crap with the logo stuck on them and that’s it. We’ve avoided all of that stuff. What we wanted to find were pieces that felt like they’ve been crafted with love by people who actually care about this stuff. They exist. It’s a genuinely remarkable difference and you know it when you hold something in your hands.
We’ve considered who these gifts are for. Your friend who has every quote from the books memorised who will know immediately if you’ve put any thought into this or not. Your child whose eyes are about to light up for the first time and deserve something that feels as special as the story is promising them. That friend who wouldn’t buy anything like this for themselves but will quietly cherish something someone else did pick. They’re not the same people and what you get each of them should be different as a result.
Everything you’ll find here, we would gift it to ourselves. That’s the standard we hold ourselves too. If we weren’t prepared to part with it, then you won’t find it on here. Popularity elsewhere or how well known a license is shouldn’t influence the selections. If the wizarding world was vague and generic we’d all have moved on by now. It’s lovely, it’s detailed and the gifts we cherish should be the same.__
